I have my own Gemstones/ Diamonds, can I use them in my design?
At House of Frost we don’t use your gemstones or diamonds when we make a new piece due to the manufacturing methods we use. We understand that your own gems and diamonds may be sentimental, and you would like it incorporated in your new piece. We are not saying that it can’t be done, and they can’t be used. We just don’t offer that service currently.
If you would like your own gems to be incorporated, then we suggest that you opt for the Design Consult (step 1). This way you know what style and design you want. If you would like to proceed further we can make what is called a mount which is a piece of jewellery that is made specifically to house your stone/s using their exact dimensions. We will send you the custom designed and made mount for you to take to your trusted local jeweller to have your stones set.
I have my own Diamond can you create a Custom Designed Engagement Ring for it?
If you have an heirloom diamond or a diamond (or any other coloured stone for that matter) from another source we are more than happy to design a ring to suit it for you. Please note we currently do not offer to set your stones.
We do however offer to make mounts and semi mounts for you. A mount is a ring blank that is made to suit your stone, it is a fully finished ring except it has no stone in the main setting. You can then take this mount to your trusted local manufacturing jeweller and have them set your diamond (or other stone). A semi mount is a similar item to the mount the main difference is it has other small stones preset in it already (i.e. like the small diamonds set in a halo that surrounds the main stone). Just like the mount option it has no center stone set in the main setting. Which is perfect for you, as you can take your new custom designed semi mount to your trusted local manufacturing jeweller and they can set your diamond.
If you would like to proceed please select the design consult step 1 and we can guide you through the process from there. Please note you will be responsible for providing us with accurate measurements of your stone, if you have a new diamond they will usually come with a diamond certificate. All the specifics of the diamond will be listed there. For other stones and heirloom diamonds you will need to get your stone measured. We need: cut type, height, width, depth, girdle thickness and corner lengths (if applicable).
I have my own gold/ silver: can I use them in my design?
At House of Frost we don’t use your gold or silver when we make a new piece due to the manufacturing methods we use. We understand that your metal may be sentimental, and you would like it incorporated in your new piece. We are not sayingthat it can’t be done, and it can’t be used. We just don’t offer that service currently. If you would like your own metal to be incorporated, then we suggest that you opt for the Design Consult (step 1) only. This way you know what you can do and what design you love. You can then take this to your design to your local jeweller who specializes in remelting gold.
I have a Nickle allergy, do any of your products contain nickle?
Our white gold contains a small amount of nickle. You can find out all about our metal compositions and work our your metal preferences here.
How do I work out my finger size?
That's easy, simply pop into your local jeweller and ask them to measure your finger. A general rule of thumb is the ring should go on easily but be a little firm to come off. For wider rings (more than 7mm, please allow some extra room as they tend to be harder to get on and off due to the width - again talk to your local jeweller for their advice) Please don’t worry, I have designed all of my rings with capacity to be resized. It is important to get your ring as close as possible to the size you need as you can’t make rings infinitely smaller or bigger. Please ensure that you measure the finger you intend to wear the ring on, on the hand you intend to wear ring on. Contrary to popular belief no two fingers are the same size. You can also use our ring size conversion chart if you have your size but need to convert it to an Australian ring size.
Can I return my item?
All House of Frost Jewellery items are custom made to your specifications, therefore they can not be returned simply if you change your mind. If you have questions about a particular piece of jewellery please get in touch before you purchase the item, we are always happy to answer any of your questions. You may return the item if it is faulty, for a full refund minus shipping and handling fees.
